This is the kit that I received from Woody this morning. The Crimson Tide is segmented with a piece of Brass sandwiched between 2 pieces of Aluminium !!!!

Go for it Woody. I don't think you always have to do fancy segmenting as something simple like this can have an effect !!!

Many thanks for the kits my friend !!!!:thumbs:

I've had it a while Phill. I got it from either Woody or T/Retreat whom I think have stopped selling it. It was only half a blank so I thought that I'll put it on the Sierra !!!

Thought you were gonna say that :sob:

I'd really love to get some more but as you say looks like TR aren't doing it and I can't seem to find it anywhere else.

Beautiful. Was it difficult turning the metal bits? I have thought about trying my serpentine blanks with aluminum. Good way to dispose of beer cans.:ciggrin:

Try true stone it is very similar to poly gem both are reconstituted stone or talk stone also known as soap stone which is a natural material

The problem is if the metal is angled then it can cause the drill to deflect.

With Terrys being at 90 deg that wont have been an issue.

What I do gents which I find easier is I drill each piece of metal separate and drill the blank before cutting in half. Using epoxy I glue all parts and then put the tube in the first part of the blank followed by each piece of metal and then the other part of the blank. The tube lines everything up and then I clamp.
I have stopped doing it by gluing everthing first and then drilling afterwards because as you break through each part of the metal the drill will attempt to snatch on the breakthrough and will stress the glued joints causing the whole lot to come apart!!!
I hope this helps and also with epoxy you have time to play before it goes off.:thumbs:

That pen Terry is intense contained in an excellent picture impacted heavily on my mind for this morning. Simply great when I consider your earlier pics and indeed turnings.

Kind regards Peter.:camera::camera::camera::camera::claps::claps::claps::claps:
