Notable by their absence these days I'm afraid John. There used to be a large annual show just outside Edinburgh, but that stopped maybe 5 or 6 years ago. Whether it was under supported by the punters, so the retailers didn't turn out, or whether it was under supported by the retailers so the punters didn't turn out, I couldn't say. But either way, it was under supported, and is no more.
The only one I know of, (which has capitalised on the demise of the other by taking on its old name of Scottish Woodworking Show), is hosted annually by Brodies Timber, near Dunkeld in Perthshire - so not too far for you. It's on 20th and 21st October this year.

Thanks for the info Phil, I'm sure I've heard some people talk about this Brodies Timber but didn't know the dates so will talk to a few friends & see if I can arrange a trip up there to see what it's all about, thanks again.

Our Working with Wood Show is due shortly I will send some pics. When you go to this show Phil mentioned show us some pics of it. Our Wood Guild has its annual Exhibition held in the overall wood Show each year. Hope the weather is favourable for you.

I will,we have done extensive family history and the Fife area features heavily. I was blown away taking pics at 210 pm in Glasgow one evening. There in late spring and froze, in Miller Hill put my hands up close to a roaring fire in a Pub could not feel a thing. I always understood there was Easter village and Wester village, what I found was one street pub either end, coal mine, the romance from my elders talk faded. The family all worked in the nearby mine before they emmigrated in the 1840,s.
Family talk was they were associated with Dalkeith Castle,reckon the nearest they went was underground. My great aunt visited around 1900,s full of adventure and whatever she learned she never shared. I met family in Edinburgh who told me the Miller Hill area was now part of greater Edinburgh.
Our Working with Wood Show is at the end of this month. I guess I just like pictures.
