Hi all

Sorry about picture quailty.
Here are my second lot of pens made over the last few days. One of them (2nd silver birch) i did try a bit of segmenting by puting in some blackwood and the 5th one looked very plain when turned then went for a cuppa came back and some figuring could be seen, greenish lines (not real clear in picture) the woods are not known as they were part of a lot i was given. Wood identification not my strong point.

coments welcome as always.
Thanks for looking

Ernie

Well done Ernie, some nicely well turned and finished pens there and the segmenting is good too. Like Bob says, try a euro... not my favourite but a bit more complicated.

Good work Ernie, if i was to give you a little tip it would be to put a little radius on the end of the blanks at the center band ... Other than that my friend you done a sterling job on these ... :winking:

Jim. I hate to disagree wiv ya but that is a style you have developed for yourself and it is kinda unique to you but not everyone might like to do this.
While it does suit some pens I am not so sure it goes with every pen, we all have our own preferences.
While it can look good, sometimes a clean tight fit looks good, or show the belt for what it is and give a proud waistband, each to their own init?
Ernie a sterling second attempt, well done, try all methods till you find what you like.
Having said that and a second look they probably could do with Jim's suggestion.
