Turns OK and is great to work with, will need very sharp chisels though
, TIP : always wear a face mask or RPE with filters , smells like burning hair and has potentially nasty bacteria in it
creates a good smooth natural finish

A bit on the bulous side for my taste although I understand the reasons for doing it.
Novel idea though Antler shed, what to use for the roof?

Nice turning Johnny. I've picked up some antler but not got round to using it yet. I'm with Brian on it being too bulbous and assume the pith dictated this.

that is Correct Keith ,
the internal pith would not allow me to get it turned any thinner,
However
I do have red deer antler that is almost solid antler hardly has any pith and this will allow me to get slimline
thanks for the comments will try it on a slimline fancy pen or European

Thanks for explaining the reason for the thickness John, having never worked with Antler it is always nice to know some inside information for the future .. For this reason you have actually done a decent job with the pen ...

Nice pen, would suit my gorilla grips. I bet it looks handsome with the cap on.
