Very clean pen indeed Paul , with a good finish on it too .. At a guess i would go with Eucalyptus as the wood, only because of the Green that you see in the wood ... :winking:

Now that's a great looking pen there Paul.

I'm not sure it is Eucalyptus as I think its a little too light. But then again I have been wrong on the odd occasion.. Sure Neil will know it.. even give you the botanical name for it..

:thumbs:Paul,

I was tempted to review all you today pens under the heading of oh oo ow because they vary so much, this one could be dozens of guesses either way for classification of timber and I will claim the same privilidge sometime in the future cause so many blanks I have the name is illegible or at the time familiar now gone. Whatever it is is susceptable to exposure showing different every pic interesting bands then grain, colour in digital pics IMHO is rarely true in fact it glamorises some materials.

Overall the pen has pizzas the possibility of a good sale and enough interest to keep us guessing for ever a bit like the Emporers clothes.

Kind regards Peter

It could be eucalyptus, there are over 3,000 species, so if you're a betting man this will hedge your bets!

Other than that haven't a clue, could be many, but would place a fair wedge against maple, hard or soft, curly or not.

Whatever it is Paul it's a nice piece of wood, which you have put to good use and made another cracking pen.
