Turned this pen tonight. I layered up strips of each wood, then made a jig to slice it up on the bandsaw. Glued it up again and turned nicely.

Lovely work let down by the photography, Sid. Take a look at some of the photography threads on here, improvements are easy and don't cost anything. A beautiful piece of work like that deserves better!

A fantastic job there Sid, I haven't done a segmented pen for a while and remember just how much work it is but as you have shown the results are well worth it. :thumbs:

Don't sweat it, take a piece of white paper outside or very close to a window put your pen on that and if you have a tripod use it and take a photo, best not to have it in direct sunlight, not that you will get much more this year. Once you have got a decent photo stick to the same methodology.
