On the pen I dont like the bling blob on the clip, think it is an expensive kit for what it is. Beautiful segmenting there Walter, never was any good at jigsaws and nothings changed, I never seem to be able to get all the lines to line up. Beautifully executed as always, what was the finish regime you used?

Very neat Walter I followed your article in the magazine and have put it on my to do list but like a lot of things I must get around to it. I brought myself a bench top planer thicknesser for preparing timber for segmented work but still haven't done any. I must get my finger out.

I agree as regards the bling and the price but I wanted something that looked a bit more impressive (flashy?) for the article. Finish is CA over acrylic sanding sealer, sanded to 1800 grit micromesh followed by Farecla 500 and 300.

Take care when using a planer thicknesser for small pieces of wood Vic or you won't have any fingers left to get out. I have a P/T but I prefer to use a good old fashioned shooting board for pen blanks. Much safer.

I have made some of this type of lamination for box lid inserts and they are hard to keep lined up. You did a great job. Thanks for the inspiration.

Walter a fine pen and I love the kit it does stand out mate the effect of the multiple pieces of timber contrast with the shine off the kit and balance well. Great pen.

Excellent bit of segmenting Walter, you have done well to keep the pieces matched and in line .. A good looking pen indeed ..
