Hi all

Can you use other things (plastic?) for segmenting in wood if you do not have wood the colour/s you want and if so what do use.

Again thanks for your replies.

Hi Ernie,

I`m new to segmenting with other materials than wood, so far I`ve tried plastic & aluminium both of which I`ve used thick CA to glue them with.

I figure that as long as you can glue the materials together & drill them then chances are you can turn a pen from them, it`s all about experimenting which for me is the fun of pen making.

I agree with all of the above. If it can be turned it can be used. everything is open for trying at least once. There are people who use stainless steel and other hard materials too. Now casting things is even a bigger field to play in. Pen making is fun and it should be. Experiment and have some fun.
