Shakespeare in Rib Fruited Mallee

This is a Taylors Mirfield Shakespeare Rollerball in Rib Fruited Mallee.

First Shakespeare for me. I deeply love this kit, so beautifully engineered.

I turned this parallel, simple cylinders, just to showcase the wood.

The Mallee was lovely to turn, very dense and fine. No stain on the wood at all, just the natural colours.

Turned with Carbide tools on my Precision Pro, sanded to 1000 grit, two coats of sanding sealer, four of Melamine, Carnuba topcoat

A very dignified pen it is Karl. Is that the matte finish Shakespeare Kit? It matches the lovely soft finish on the pen itself. i like the fact it does not post and has a fair heft.

Yes, the kit is the brushed stainless Shakespeare roller.
I wanted to show the wood to its best advantage and , as Peter so rightly says, the kit is a soft finish and doesn't fight the finish on the wood.

The pen has the 'right' weight in the hand. Just feels right.
The stainless steel components are so beautifully machined and finished. Dan and Alex at Taylors Mirfield have done an amazing job on the kit.
