Well...I can't sharpen knives at all,I invested a lot in dear equipment and can't put a decent edge on anything.

Chisels are totally different,just lay the tool flat to the stone,push forward,lift up,place it back,push forward and repeat as necessary,probably takes more skill to setup a grinder and jigs.
