Hello all! It's been a while since I posted, been busy with other things.

Anyway, I've got a question, so thought you chaps could help.

I've made myself a shaving kit (below). It took a while, and I cant remember where I bought the kit originally.

Now after posting it on facebook it's generated quite a bit of interest, and I've got a couple of orders. Trouble is, I'm having problems sourcing the kits at a reasonable price. Penkitsuk do the stand and the razor cheap, (£9) but not the brush. Turners Retreat only sell the brush, not cheap, (£9) and their stands are rubbish. Timberbits sell the whole thing, but they're expensive ($55).

Does anyone have any other sources or ideas please?

I got mine from the Turners Workshop it was not cheap but real good quality. These kits can sell for big money and worth the investment in quality parts if you have orders for them. I would not make them as a stock item and only do them on Commision .

I was given some of the cheap razor kits and none of them worked, some wouldn't hold the razor cos they were at an angle in the mount and they don't move to straighten them, the others wouldn't let go of razor once inserted.
Out of five I managed to get one working and waiting for that to come back.
Buy cheap get crap, that don't mean the expensive ones are any better, I sent mine back for a refund, if you find some good ones please let me know where so I can avoid the others.

Robert brushes of any real quality are not cheap stands like yours relatively cheap the razor also medium to high price by now taking orders you may have quoted prices always risky especially if you cant remember where and how much the demo one was. Recouping now if you buy a brush as a knot in a lighter colour be prepared for reasonable cost I find it a proposition to buy a brush with handle and remove the handle can save you money. I like the way you fitted a complete razor lots of makers leave off the cutting bit to save money only half a razor looks half finished to me.Had a gaze on your site like your pens.

What Vic said.

I bought mine from Vince and its good stuff, he has a range of different quality brushes as well, drop him an email or text. he's very helpful!
Co-incidently, I was looking at the brushes yesterday as I called in and availed myself of a coffee with him.

I priced mine at £125 a set, got one fellow asking with a puzzled look "Did you forget the decimal point?" Fortunately I sold one of the two I made, and I have used the other ever since. Not a market I can see a future in, but then Rod Neep makes a fortune in it, so what do I know?
