Forgot to mention that I used a different finish for this pen. Normally I do sanding sealer, friction polish and microcrystalline wax as I can't get on with CA.

For this I tried the Dresch & Mer no Drishel Und Mer no Dresden Und Mire. Boll**ks I can't spell it

GERMAN PEN FINISH ! Three coats with the lathe stationary.

Quite pleased with the outcome

Thanks for this Vic this hairy timber can do with some help and I like the way you tamed it I was thinking maybe you used sanding sealer then lo and behold you answered my question it works IMHO really effective.
