It's a wood that's escaped me as well and t'Internet is no help either. I'm intrigued - do you know of any alternative name or best of all, the scientific (Latin) name?

Summit wood is native to small pockets of land in the north Midlands area. It is widely sort after and can come in a wide variety of colours, densities and smells. It is more often than not found in bargain buckets in shops who need to sell off their off cuts. It has a very short flowering period, in spring around early April and can have spectacular flowers. Reputedly the wood that Geppetto used to make Pinnochios facial features.
