Summit wood is quite a soft wood but turns nicely finished with cooking oil yes cooking oil a cheep one from tesco and 4 coats of thick CA yes ca glue me finishing with the dreaded ca never again I toned it down to a satin finish I dont like gloss on pens but thats me enjoy
