Summit wood is native to small pockets of land in the north Midlands area. It is widely sort after and can come in a wide variety of colours, densities and smells. It is more often than not found in bargain buckets in shops who need to sell off their off cuts. It has a very short flowering period, in spring around early April and can have spectacular flowers. Reputedly the wood that Geppetto used to make Pinnochios facial features.
