Are the nibs and clips of the slimline the same ones for the Streamline ?

Yes, as far as I’m aware the only difference is the centre band

Glen, nibs yes, but there are several different styles of clips for the streamlines depending on where you get them from.

I have a number of Slimline kits and I was wondering if I could change the center band using Streamline bands but is it better to get Streamline kits.

If I remember correctly, the centre band for a steamline is larger than the slimline. You will need to either have the correct bushing for the centre or use calipers. Just in my experience and have learnt by mixing up the two kits............doh

Been mixing and matching Slims and streamlines for at least 30 yrs and because I used to buy a couple of hundred slims in batches of nibs,clips etc I prevaled on Timberbits to bring in several thousand centre bands which he did. My most recent batch came from Sam in Victoria,there is no comparison between the squinty original slim bands for design oportunities IMHO.Yes the clips on the streamlines vary a lot all part of the fun.

Glen, if you already have slimline kits and you also have streamline centre bands then you can certainly use the streamline centre bands with the slimline kit.
As Frederick said you need a streamline centre band bushing though I just use an old streamline centre band itself as a bushing. There is a lot more timber at the centres which allows a bit more play when shaping.

Throw away the slim centre bands, and use streamline CB.
