Beech head, ash handle, ebony wedge. This was a fun project to make and will go with some small carving chisels I recently bought - now to find time to use them!

Thanks - I've not done any carving so it will be a new venture. At the moment, I'm just contemplating a bit of texture carving on bowl rims or box lids. Will post pics if I achieve anything.

That's really nice, love the shape. Just as it should be..

The Ebony touch makes it a little different and personal as well.

Look forward to the carving demo now then?

That looks good Stewart. Always fancied a go at carving but with absolutely no artistic skill I have never got round to it.

Looking forward to seeing your efforts
