Not sure about the wood on this bit liked the spalted pattern I found in it. It measures 2 1/4" tall and 3 1/4" across.

That's nice, I have lots of spalted wood that is identical to that, mine is Rhododendron.

Very nice, I think there are lots of woods that seem to spalt like that, I've got some Hawthorn and some Hazel like that.

That's a beautiful piece Derek. :thumbs: I'd go with Brian with it being Apple. I had some exactly the same as this.

What ever wood it is it does it for me, thou my first thought was stone age .. :thumbs:
