I’ve done it again! I bought 4 Sn gents pen kits from Timberbits together with the drills and the bushings. I queried last week if these kits were know by other names and was told that they are known as the Chairman or the Executive kit from Axminster.
What I didn’t realise was that the 14.5mm (37/64”) drill would not fit any of the chucks I use for drilling on the lathe or my hand power drill. Being at a loss I made enquiries at Axminster, which revealed that I need to buy a new 16mm chuck and arbour if I want to make these kits.
For me the kits are not worth the expense of buying yet more gear when there are plenty of good kits to use with the drills and chucks I have. Pity I didn’t realise this at the beginning. :sob:

I have turned down the shanks of countless drills the steel in the shanks is not hardened to a high degree witness a jammed drill and how they chew up.
