That is one nice looking pen Johnny, great piece of timber that polishes up real good .. Well worth the wait from Timberbits my friend .. :bwink:

Made this in February, checked it today and it has split along the whole body. :sob:
Decided that I will not be making any more pens from snakewood . Expensive mistake but looked the dogs b$$$$$$$s when it was made

Sorryto here that Johnny, but sadly Snakewood is notorious for this, i used it once on a barron pen with the same result that you have .. Never bothered with it since .. :down:

I can see yours was a really nice piece but had problems myself with splitting.

I've got a Snakewood blank. Was told that I have to turn it very carefully and keep cooling the drill bit in water :pray:

Try drilling it by hand? Or going up in steps so you dont cause to much stress. Best of luck.
