I use the Drechslen und Mehr pen finish almost exclusively for my finishing as i was given a bottle by the toolpost.
It is incredibly easy to apply 3 - 4 coats and your done I don't micromesh it and it gives a lovely semi gloss to satin finish that so far seems to be pretty hard wearing though I do top coat with penturners overcoat from Hampshire sheen.

I also use the Drechsleroel on non Pen woodworking its similar to Osmo oil and gives a lovely finish i used it to finish the oak jigsaw boards i made for my father for Christmas another product that I really like

Thanks for the info Derek. It sticks in my mind that Walter sampled this pen finish or something similar quite a while ago in Woodturning.
