Take a guess
Certainly looks like you're getting the hang of turning pens, lovely work :thumbs:

Is the top pen made from two different woods?

Keep an eye on the pens Cowboy, as her indoors will steal all the good ones my friend .. Mine is like a Magpie .. Very good effort with the pens to say you have just started out, you certainly have a good shape and finish.. :bwink:

Well done cowboy.

It might be the photo but on the green bottom half where it joins the centre band it looks a little jagged, do you use a barrel trimmer? Pen Making - - Barrel Trimmer

To edit photos online use something like this Photo editor online - Pixlr.com edit image use " crop " and there will be a resize option somewhere.

If using iPhone use apps like.....

"Snapseed" to crop and " simple resize" both free.

Nice pens. Not so easy to tell from the photos but I think the barrels are a little proud of the centre band. Quite normal when starting out (and way better to be a little proud than to over cut the barrels) but something to work on as you progress. The idea is that your finger registers only the very slightest tickle as you slide it from barrel to centre band and back to barrel. I have heard some claim that it is possible to get it so accurate that the finger cannot feel a thing, but I've never done it so it must be impossible ...

That is an impressive bunch of pens considering you've not been making them long, it won't be long before you have to start nicking em from er indoors handbag to sell :funny:

Nice one Graham!

Buy making her indoors a pen, you now have an excuse to buy more tools.

You might want to try some, dare I say it, acrylics if she likes the more colourful ones. An unlimited amount of colour combinations and styles to be had there.

Keep em coming!
