Is it possible to get an adapter for a 1" x 8 patriot chuck to fit a Spindle Thread: 1 1/4" 8TPI ..

This is the chuck showing the 1" x 8 size, if this is the size is it possible to come from this to the 1 1/4" 8TPI ..

is it direct threaded jim? I believe it should have an insert, e.g. the ones above, but you would need to have a look inside.

you can get adapters Jim but they will add extra length

Normally the chuck comes with the insert size indicated on the box. Have you a picture of the screw fitting on the chuck

You can Jim. I got an adaptor for a 1" 8 tpi chuck to fit my Maxi 1 1/4 8 tpi from Record Power

I have just checked and according to Robert Sorby the number on the box indicates that the chuck comes with an adaptor which is also shown on the label so just a case of buying a new insert removing the 1" X 8 insert. this is done by undoing the allan screw in the main body
