Finally got to sort out the drying shed. Stuff gets put in stick and not touching, but once it loses enough moisture it can be stacked up making more room for more wood. Had a load of Silver Birch and Sycamore hogging the shelves which has now been moved. Silver Birch has either been turned or is on the workshop shelves, and the Sycamore has been stacked!
That made room for the freshly felled Horse Chestnut, Robinia, ornamental Cherry blanks and logs, and Yew logs. I even ended up with a small empty shelf. :shocking:

Might have to cut that Olive trunk on the drive!:rolling:

You’ve got too much wood Neil. As a gesture of friendship I’ll nip round and take some away for free.

Looks just too tidy for me Neil I must sort mine so that at least all the same type of wood is in one pile and so on but at the moment that will not get done

It's a jumble of all sorts on the top shelf Derek I just write the wood type on each blank with a soft lead pencil, saves the embarrassment when the brain farts kick in!:whistling:

Still have a pile in the garden and a trunk on the drive to do but I'm still not really up to chainsawing. Might have to get the better half to saw some flats on bits so I can get them through the bandsaw!

I do mark them with wood and date cut at this stage don't go as far as weighing them and marking. It would just be nice that all the Oak was in the same place and not mixed with the Ash and others. My store needs a new roof bat am waiting for the better weather before doing that

What a cop out Neil :rolling: make a jig and they don't need a flat to cut them so stop using Ali as an excuse.
Now, if you have snow like we have, that's a proper excuse.

Great stash of wood Neil so your drying shed contraption is clearly working, you'll need to get your sales hat on and shift some of it soon

These are the bits that are still outside the shed!

And then there is still a trunk on the drive that neither of us could move!

Indoors!
I need to get the Cherry out of the seasoning shed and indoors as soon as possible. I normally only put fruit woods in there for the wood borers to leave everything else alone!
Slabs of Ukon Cherry under the Thicknesser and Sander.

Dry, reclaimed, and self seasoned stuff!
