It became apparent quite early on while in Mikes (Johnsons) workshop the other day that the Crown Cryo minature chisels that came with Axminster Precision Pro lathe are not big enough for turning pens. With this in mind and not having the facility in the spare room for grinding equipment I have ordered a set of carbide turning chisels which I am told you can sharpen quite easily with a 600grit diamond stone and lapping fluid. I have included pictures of both. I'm sure the small ones will come in use somewhere down the learning road.

I use this same set now and then but mostly use a roughing gouge and skew. You are right it only take a few rubs with lapping fluid or glass cleaner if you have no lapping fluid I use a small Trend diamond sharpener 600 grit about 10 rotations on the diamond is all that is required you do not need to use Trend DMT is just as good here is a utube link to Trend credit card size diamonds the part that will interest you starts at 1 min 46 sec but its worth watching the whole thing:-

I love my tiny chisels similar to your set always room for mine in pen turning (makes me feel like a Surgeon they command respect), like the display of tools as well. Thanks for the Video that tumbled out in a reply.
