One of Phils ballpoints on a spalted apple blank that my old mate Woody gave me a couple of years back that I've just got round to turning. The blank was soft and porous so it was a struggle to get a finish on it but it turned out ok in the end. The wife's got it now and gave me back the eucalyptus fountain pen I did yesterday lol. Photo taken with the iPad which is very convenient but doesn't show the pen at its best.

I well know the fun to be had with spalted timbers having just completed some twenty plus of them Keith. From your photo it is hard to appreciate this pen. Glad your wife liked it made a swap with you. Happy wife happy home.

Peter.

Looking good Keith - I see you've got a selfie in the centre band too. Good choice of accent colour on the centre band to compliment the apple.
