Yesterday I was trying taps and dies Brian. I tried it on a piece of purple heart which I thought was a bit soft so dosed it in thin superglue and tried again. That didn't work so tried a harder wood; some ziricote but that too didn't like it, the threads were very flat. I have tried with thread chasers too but I think they're good for bigger pieces... not that I had much success there either.
