Turned a couple of Spalted Eucalyptus blanks yesterday both on Slimline pens and both finished with a friction polish and waxed with hut wax stick .. Both blanks are cut from the same log, but look so different ..

What a lovely pair of pens, it is amazing how different they look from the same log, is the difference heartwood and sapwood?
