Searching the world over the years for Olive Wood from wherever I picked up on a few from Spain from an adjoining country ages ago. It never dissapoints.

Took the quick route flash on Camera its been so hot again 40 degrees celcius for several days on the trot there are bush fires in the area smoke haze all over town.

Kind regards Peter

Lovely Peter, very nicely turned. You should consider doing more turning and less stunt :tongue:work.

Paul I watched a James Bond movie recently he made me look like an amateur Ill never forget the Bond film when he rode a motor bike over the blue mosque in Turkey when I was there I was frantic hoping my shoes would still be at the front door it was a hot day all I could consider the having to walk barefoot for ages. My daughter No3 married a Turk from Istanbul and while they were there for a number of years I spent 7 weeks in the country out in the far East of Turkey I played Tarzan and in Cappadocia leaped twelve feet misjudged the landing and severely damaged one foot had to climb 2000 steps back up the escarpment from the valley to the tour bus much better forgotten. Only in my 60,s then a little more settled now except for recent flying lessons. I firmly believe Cappadocia is one of the the worlds great wonders, also the ancient people living underground in biblical times must have been about 4 feet tall as at 6 feet two it was a hard slog following people in those tunnels carved out of the volcanic rock. When I got back in a few days to Istanbul at the main hospital the specialist in a small room with the steriliser on the floor put my leg in a cast that was uneven in height this the day before returning home to Canberra. Horrid thoughts crossed my mind. My daughter and son in law were with me and yes I received the lectures
instructions, cautions etc.

Peter.

As always from you Peter, outstanding workmanship on a lovely piece of wood.
Thanks for showing it.
There comes a time in every mans life when the stunts must cease, good you are back at your lathe try to keep it that way and leave the roof climbing for the younger generation eh.

Watching Midsomer Murders last night Wilma dryly remarked if that was you you would have taken a short cut over the roof (cruel but true).

I will keep a collection of Olive Pens the colour, texture varies from place to place some as white as Holly to darkest shades of age. Thanks for the comments.

Peter.
