I can't buy anything until Friday when I get paid init?
I have perverted many rollerballs to use a transmission by popping the hat off a Parker style and swapping it over to the RB init?
You do have to take into account the extra length and adapt accordingly but can make a superb pen init?

To my knowledge rollerballs don't have mechanisms.

oooooops,
Your dead right I was looking at the wrong pen.
What I really want to do is to replace the slimline cross style with a roller ball and wonder if there is one that fits the slim line.

Why on earth would you want to do that?

Anyway, Apart from the fact that slimline tubes are 7mm and you will need at least an 8 mm tube and trannie the answer to that is "nope". not unless someone has developed a super slimline roller ball.

By roller ball do you mean "parker" type or the black roller ball?

In this world I am lead by a govt concerned with their jobs at the next election etc it is pleasing to belong to a forum where we can ask ambiguos questions and find others have the same problem. The answer it seems is to adapt the spare parts counter attitude what model, year, make, name etc tiresome at the time but ever so easy to sort out. Every day at the hospital I have to give my name date of birth, address, phone number and the crunch what are you being treated for one time I said cheekily for a pain in the bum, in Oncology every day for me there are so many checks and balances they have me layed flat lined up by the three reference dots (I asked for a full body tattoo) shuffled around do you have a full bladder the three helpers say by now the monster machine calls in two Darlecks outriggers X Rays to ensure where you organs are sitting now then the outriggers return home and the huge monster avenging angel hover stops beams moves on all round you as you thank your lucky stars the interminable correctness continues. Never mind for me the count down continues. Trying to get workshop time travel and routine living and comfort.

THe old journos questions what where why etc essential part of every query. Good luck in your quest mate.

Peter.

If you really DO mean convert a slimline to take a rollerball, then yes, you just about do it, but it's a tight fit. There is no mechanism available for a rollerball - they normally rely on a cap, so its really just a question of making sure the spring at the clip end of your rollerball is long enough, or is packed out to sit in the right place, because a rollerball refill is shorter that a cross style refill.

If actually you mean convert a slimline to take a G2 parker style refill, then the answer is no, because a G2 mechanism requires a wider tube than the 7mm that a slimline gives you.

Having said that, I think you will find that Dan is shortly going to introduce a pretty slim G2 kit, which looks a bit like a streamline. That may fit the bill.

To explain what I was saying before we discovered it was a slimline.

Get together a Parker type and a rollerball.

Swap the hats over.

It now fits in a twist mechanism, not a slimline but a Sierra or Polaris (probably many others) will fit and make a better pen, lets face it any pen is better than a Polaris init?

Interesting post as a lady was interested in a slimline pen I had made but wanted to know if it was available in a rollerball. The answer is "No but you can have this with a rollerball"
