As per the title does anyone know of any decent specialist timber merchants in Essex I have been asked by someone in Sydney Australia for help I have messaged him to get an idea of what type of timber he is after.

Hi Dalboy the best specialist timer supplier is not in Essex but in tonbridge it’s called timberline the have every timber going have a look on line it is used by luthiers for timber to make acoustic guitars etc
Thank you, Terry, he has now been sorted as I am sending him some Laburnum which he will collect from his mothers-in-law house in Essex. He will be returning the favour with some Australian wood, which he will bring over with him. Due to the fact he is coming to the UK is for a funeral, so will not have much time to run around looking for suppliers further out of Essex.

suggest you also include a small quantity of YEW aa’s that’s very popular over there BUT make sure you remove every last trace of bark or customs will confiscate it
I did put some other items in but have to think of weight as it is going in luggage I did clean the Laburnum of all the bark just because of the reason you mentioned
