Here is one of the stabilised Burr Elm blanks that i did last week. It is the one at the very front showing the woodworm ..

Given a CA finish ..

That is really gorgeous. It just shows that it is worth the effort to save such a great piece of wood that would otherwise be thrown away (not by me). Some of the nicest blanks I have turned were flooded with CA to allow them to be used, I must try out stabilising with vacuum.
