I wasn't going to stabilise this blank initially, but after turning a test piece I found it to be quite fragile inside. So after a long soak in the bath ( the Oak not me ) it turned like a dream. Ca finish and micromesh.

Great looking timber, beautiful pen. How old is your CA? It appears that your finish is cracking on the barrel. I recently had a dozen or so pens with cracked finish.

Oh sod it. I never noticed that you're right. Glad my new ca arrived this morning. Looks like I'm going to need it sooner than I thought. Oh and I was soooo close to becoming a famous photographer too:sob::sob:
