Neil, inclined to agree with you on the effect stabilizing timbers like Buckeye Burl however the end result is so fantastic its worth the effort I have lots of untreated Buckeye that is like balsa wood and about as useful. Every time I use plastic it makes me curse the ribbons of rubbish that congest everything but then again they have their place as well. I have a superb example of pen parts and a couple of American Quarters to turn some time soon.
