Made from junk from skips.
A reclamation project that featured in issue 2 of Woodworking Crafts magazine.

Mainly remains of a child's flat pack desk. A completely pointless wooden mechanism was made to lift the lid, and the light comes on when the lid is fully open.

Very nice Neil. It's not my taste but I enjoyed reading about the build in woodwork crafts magazine.

Very "Marmite" I know.
The brief on this one was to "Re imagine" the use of a load of junk.
No fine woodworking was involved.
Nothing was specifically purchased to make this, and use was made of anything to hand.

If it helps someone think "I can do that", then I am Happy!

There is only a couple of members on here that i could envisage doing this kind of work Neil .. It wouldn't be fair to name them ..

I like the thought that has gone into it my friend and the fact it was all junk before coming together ..

I can just imagine my missus giving it houseroom :funny: Great innovation though Neil, out of interest, what's the central column made from?

It's metal Bob. I picked a couple of tubes out of a skip containing what looked like air conditioning stuff in it.
I don't know what purpose they originally had. The plate at the bottom is solid, and the other end had a plastic cap on.:nooidea:

Really interesting Neil. You would have a field day at my place rooting among all my "treasures" rubbish.
I can visualise you head first in a skip with the "blue arse" in the air. :funny: Horrible thought though:ciggrin:
