An unusual timber, very light yet harder than you would expect. finishes nicely, better than the photo would suggest, and yes the refill is in the right length, its just that the pen isnt turned completely to expose the nib! Pieces of this timber that I have are this mottled colour, rippled and some with some very tight burr in them.

This blank would have looked much better on a gun metal kit, but I havent got one left! So its gold instead! Timber is also called Chilean Laurel, but to save confusion and because Woody loves Latin, Laurelia sempervirens.

Hmmm. Pity apple and Microsoft can't replicate the spectrum on these screens, this pen is brownish on my iPad and dark green on my desktop.

It's really shades of light to mid green.

Neil, I can't find any reference to this wood on the internet. Is this the actual nutmeg nut you've turned or the tree wood?
