i have broke more than one transmission by not cleaning the inside of the brass tube. So I wanted to fab a bushing to thread inside the tranny to strengthen the thin wall and distribute the load. I gave up trying to match the threads and fabricated it to the small diameter of the threads and with a step to match the outside diameter of the transmission. Yea, I now use a chainsaw file to clean the inside of the tube. I also use a potato to plug the tube when glueing. Have not lost one since. The made bushing gives me a little more wiggle room when I make haste.
