Just get whatever you can afford and enjoy it init?

Practice practise practise practise practise practise practise.
Then practice some more.
By now it's paid for itself, lessons have been learned and money has been saved to go get what you want.

Whatever you buy, expensive or cheap, it will only make what the turner makes, lathes can't make good things on their own, it's down to the user what the end product is worth!:thinks:

I don't know about reasonably priced but if you can source a pre owned Record (Nova) 1624 lathe complete with outboard rig this will allow bowls of up to 29" in diameter. I recently sold one to Neil and used it for some quite large bowls (15") and never had any trouble with movement.
