I was asked to cut down the legs of a newly bought Oak coffee table.
They were a lamination of smaller pieces of wood to make the 4" Sq legs, I turned this off cut to show the end grain. I kept the wall quite thick, as I wasn't sure how well the glue joints would hold up!

92mm d x 90mm high.

You seem to have an eye for such things Neil, i would have been looking to see if i could burn them .. :thumbs: Good that you choose a better use my friend, the vase looks good .. :thumbs:

I've been given a couple of similar offcuts from oak newel posts which I was wondering what to use for.

Had a go at another piece this morning, but abandoned it.
The internal wood was pretty nasty with dead knots and voids everywhere.:rant:
