I was a bit embarrassed about showing my first attempts at turning pens to you all, especially with all the wonderful goodies on display here. Anyhow as Woody has suggested I've taken the bull by the horns and here are my first attempts at making pens. Up to around four weeks ago the only time I had ever used a lathe was a one half hour lesson at school in 1960 ; so I realise that I have a lot to learn. Please feel free to comment and criticise, but be gentle ..I'm only little ..P.S after hours of trying to reduce the pictures to the acceptable size I seem to have shortened the images somehow. Top picture Streamlines.Bottom picture Slimlines.

Ed these are excellent for a newcomer. Never worry about showing because if there is any criticism believe me it will be constructive. We are not here to destroy anybody's confidence not that yours will ever be on this showing!!!!!!:thumbs::thumbs:

Ed,

In relation to reducing I now use for this forum all the time the free Picassa 3 program I went through the same agonising as you Proceedure for me is transfer the images from my camera using a card reader installing all pics after general label what they are. I then select cancel all pics on the card this puts the new pics in the system.

Kind regards Peter.

Take me to 1960 and give me a lesson please.
I haven't been there since my childhood days but I am prepared to travel.
They don't belong to a beginner by any means, If that's what you start with I think I should give up.
