Good try two things First are you sure that is ash as it looks more like Oak and second the colours you have selected make it look dirty. It does look well turned Hope you don't mind my thoughts

Could be oak, was a piece of shelving left in the outhouse by previous homeowner. Understand the dirty colour, I used red and green over a yellow base. The thing looks better in natural light.
