Nice one Terry like the colouring, by adding it a little thick it does leave some nice white peaks which is attractive.

Jo Sonjas paints abound at ours for many years Wilma has used them for her art work,I was musing the other materials she uses have become base coatings before casting etc.

The wild wave like effect between the main colour and the tips is exciting, different on this forum setting this bowl apart as a masterpiece IMHO Terry.

Oooh, I like that! Do the paints dry flat, or do they leave a texture that you can feel?

Very nicely done indeed. I love it and am not usually bothered with painted pieces. I am sure I have some of these paints so I must try them. Do you mind if I take some inspiration from you ? :thinks:

I think that looks amazing and really well done.
Ash does lend itself to colouring, in this case I think you have
elevated, albeit a lovely wood, into another realm!!!!

Beautiful colouring. Would love to try it myself but wouldn't know where to start. Anyone know of any good tutorials?

The paints dry pretty flat Melanie but it is the way I apply it that gives that effect. The base coat is black and then I applied the blue iridescent paint with a brush just in a rough fashion and then I added a little gold iridescent paint on top of the blue again with a brush. While it was still wet I used a piece of cling film and crumpled it up and dabbed it all over the paint until I came up with this pattern.
