This is a bolt action Tec-Pen in chrome. The blank is a Kirinite Turquoise Pearl. Wow, what a stunning blank!

This blank is definitely translucent. So I painted the tube and blank with spray paint, and colored the epoxy with acrylic paint. The spray paint is called "Seaside".

The Tec-Pen kit comes with a stylus for the finial end. It also includes a plain cap if you don't want the stylus.

I've turned several of them, and they're nice. The only problem I had was the screws came out of the clip on one of them, and my friend lost one of the screws. I couldn't find a screw that size anywhere. I'll be putting threadlock on these.

Picture fest Jim you brought out the arsenal of extras to make this one. Do you trim on the lathe or sand the ends before turning, puzzled how you achieved the broken closed ring. I am heavily in favour of the fastening of the clip but as you said some locking fluid would pay dividends a small extra with the additional treatment to make the blank. Those special cans of paint are very exxy over here per can. These fourteen pics deserve attention.

The end result is superb.

I always take photos of all the steps of making all my pens. I actually took 53 pics of this one. I like to be able to refer back to the various steps. That and I just like taking photos. I've always used either a commercial barrel trimmer or a piloted end mill for trimming the blanks. The captive ring was left over from the trimming process.

Makes sense now Jim you must have an expansive library of pics mate.
