This is a 7mm twist pen, the pen comes with an optional stylus which I chose not to fit.

The wood is mahogany given to me by Neil Lawton, he may know some history of the wood but it looks to have been a part of furniture at some point in it's past. The refill is upgraded to Beaufont. The wood is finished in Carnauba wax and car polish I had laying about.

It was turned on a mandrel but without bushed so digi veriners were used.

:goesred::face: Well spotted Brian! :funny:

I don't mind the pen, the twist mech works well and the stylus/chrome plain cap can be swapped with a screw thread.

It's probably me that's made it look strange Brian!

It is different and will probably take a bit of handling and getting used to but I'm sure that when the optimum shape has been made (not knocking yours Jimi... probably) it will be a good seller. I like the nib end shape Jimi but with the top end the same it looks like... well Neil would say sausages. :thumbs:

Not sure about the kit..:thinks:

The shape is ok to me, just little too "sausages" for me. But ok..

I'm not sure about the finish on the blank, just showing the grain as if it's filled with sanding dust and showing up a little. Might just be the picture tho.

Thanks Eamonn, finishing is something I need to work on. I think the flecks are polish in the voids.

A bit too porky for me Jimi, but a good fit to the ends.:thumbs:

If you want to try out a few different finishes, pop over again. and you can see which you prefer?

I do have some unused Mahogany, but your blank is most likely an off cut from a table leg, as I have quite a few of those.

Car polish will show white in the grain if used without a sealer and I don't sure if wax is a good enough sealer for an abrasive polish.
if you used the wax after it would enhance the white polish.
