I was visiting a friend's house the other day and he was telling me how his wife had knocked over the TV when they were decorating, the TV was ruined but the Black glass stand survived intact.. It was outside beside his dustbin so i took it as i had an idea for it .. Well, today I tried my idea out... I used it to take some images of pens that I had already placed on the forums to compare them.. Here are the results .. Please give me your comments, and don't hold back ..

I like the shiny glass Jim but I think the reflections being so close to the pen distract your eye from the pen, but I do like the idea, maybe get the pen so that its not right on the glass if possible or at a 45 degree angle.
