Todays session a Tetra Double Twist Ballpoint Pen with Stylus dressed in diagonal cut black ash with a CA finish
I have been looking for a different stylus pen for some time and have recently come across this Tetra Double Twist Stylus Pen, so this is the first time I have done one of them. The kit came from Turners Retreat at £8-95 the are not a cheap kit, the quality seems quite good, the built pen is quite heavy and feels nice in the hand. This particular kit is in gunmetal & gold (others available although I have only found them in the USA)
The pen needs an 8mm drill bit for the tubes so the pen is naturally a little more bulky than a streamline or slimline. The refill required is a Parker type, and the twist mechanism can be used by turning in either direction and is quite positive. The stylus is quite different to what we find on most other pens where they are made of a rubber like material, easily tear & come out of the housing. The Tetra stylus features an advanced soft nano silver fabric micro-knit fiber tip that won't scratch or smudge your touch-screen surface (that's from the manufacturer but seems accurate enough). The tip certainly will wear better which is just as well because the woven ones will not be easy to replace.
All in all, personally I like them and will be doing a few more, although I think I may give them a bit more shape, I will also have to find some alternative platings. I think Pete B did a few of these a couple of years ago but I haven't seen anything of them since.
