Thank you all for your help , with my old lathe but it was 5/8 fitting so pffft , I gave up and got a new one from Axminster ( if any off you went to the newark show it was there on Display )

Glad you got it sorted Tina. Saw this one on their stand. I think our Phillh has got one and he's well impressed with his. Many happy hours to spend turning now eh.:thumbs:

I have moved it now it's on a work bench was just so excited I had to take a pic the second it was home !!! Right next to my lathe I keep a vacuum cleaner so it never gets to bad ( there as to be a joke in there somewhere)

No joke from me as both of my lathe looks just like it did when I brought it vac all around after going over with a soft bristle brush then have a old curtain covering it when not in use

That makes me happy been watching vids lately every time the lathe gets a nudge it wobbles good luck doing fine detail on them. These days I have no need for a monster lathe set on a one ton block of concrete I do note with interest the switching on the right hand end a lot less susceptable over there IMHO great thinking by the makers problems easier sloved away from the swinging end much safer as well.
