tried your jig idea..despite its appearance i am actually really chuffed with this one, everything lines up as it should...now just need to work on the glueing up so bits dont fall out :)

Well done, that's come out good. Shame about the gluing issue.

What glue are you using? Also I wonder if your drilling a little too quick getting the glue warmed up and letting go when its put under pressure

using CA glue, and youre probly right, no patience me :rolling:...but it was only a test piece..need to find better materials now and give it a proper go :thumbs:

Slow and steady wins the day. You will be surprised just how heat knackers up CA. slightest bit heat and it's knackered and looses its adhesion. Drill at about 600 to 900 rpm and feed it slowly. then a win win.

Not sure what type of drill you are using, the spur tip ones I find are better, but can't always get one the correct size.

yeah, i need to learn the slow and steady way...its a character flaw of mine, everything needs to be done NOW lol..i have some brad point drills, ill give them a try, using hss twist drills atm...all drilling is done on the lathe at its slowest speed, tried using my pillar drill to no avail :rolling:
