Just seen these Filibella Pen Kits on Turners Retreat's website, has anyone bought or turned any of them? I don't think they are for me to be honest but wouldn't mind hearing what they are like .. :thinks:

Turners Retreat have lost the plot. Man in Taiwan or China makes a pen at $2 and sends it to psi who have had to pay transport and US customs so it's now $6 and they make a profit so, trade it's now $9 and then turners Retreat buy it at trade, and pay transport so it's now $12 or £8, plus customs vat at 20% plus 30% profit and the UK penturners buys this at £12.95 plus the postage that TR put on it so it's now the best part of £14 for a pen that has the same crappy cross style refill, the same slimline twist mechanism.

It's still a $2 pen with three loads of transport, two extra profit margins, two extra loads of vat and it still has a crappy refill.

Would you pay £14 for a slimline?

Thanks indeed to John for that better picture the keyhole in the clip looks as if it was chewed out BUT I like the rest of it there is a future for this kit IMHO. When you sell you put your margin on as well few people talk about that on slimlines.:fingers::fingers:

Peter.
