A while back, I bought some Brazilian brown ebony blanks on eBay and got round to turning one of them yesterday. The blank didn't look that interesting, but what gradually emerged was a gorgeously figured piece of wood in lustrous shades ranging from gold to chocolate. The blank now adorns a Baron fountain pen and I'm very pleased with the result. Unfortunately the eBay seller (dingleberry88) seems to have disappeared, otherwise I would be pestering him for some more Brazilian brown ebony.

Very nice Bob, lovely graduation in the grain. I have some wood from the same seller, it's actually Dave Hilton who is a member of these forums, known as Lignaterra, he's now selling through that alias on ebay here if that helps: Access Denied

I have just won some auctions for blanks from Dave (Lignaterra on eBay) and am looking forward to the arrival of some more Brazilian Brown Ebony, some Indian Rosewood, Pommele Sapele and Macassar Ebony. If these are half as good as the last blanks I bought from him, I'm in for a treat!

Thanks for the heads-up, Greg. I had noticed the blanks on eBay from Lignaterra and wondered if it was the same person. Now I know!

Worry not, dingleberry88 is indeed alive and well, for it is me! I used to list my eBay blanks under my son's account but as things expanded I needed to set up my own which is indeed Lignaterrae. Anyway, dingleberry88 is an awful username...!
I do have more Braz Brown Ebony, (and hundreds of other species as well), always contactable by PM or my personal email address, davehilton58@gmail.com, for my full spreadsheet of all species.

Thanks, Dave. Having spent a fair bit on your auctions yesterday, I'll use what I've bought first, but I'll be in touch later, when my wallet has recovered from its bruises. (This could take a while - a Dalesman's wallet bruises easily!) :violin:
